Some things I'd like to see for these features;
I know you said you planned on adding this but the ability to add quests directly into the Favorites. Maybe I just didn't go about doing it right last night but I was making a list of dailies using the daily quest guide on Curse and I didn't have many of these in my log so I was making notes then trying to add the locations from the database pane. This worked ok for adding the quest starter (record, shift click the starter in the DB added a target 1st) but adding the end of the quest was a little goofy. Ctrl shift clicking the end also created a target 1st instead of a target.
It would be really nice if we could just shift click the quest name (or a right click "add to favs" menu item) and have the whole thing added to the favorite while still being able to add start/end as it works now.
If part of my problem was that I was doing it from the DB pane and not the log or watch list it needs to work from the DB pane as well. I shouldn't have to go get a quest or have it marked completed (thank you Ryan for the guide) in my log just to be able to add it to a fav. Also shouldn't have to click on the map at all to add these. It makes adding favs for a guide in mass way to tedious.
I'd like to see this work with the map shading for an objective. Having a single point show on the map just does not cut it when you have such an awesome shading feature. Maybe even a way to "track" a given list of favorites. Like I have a Isle of Quel'Danas fav with a list of 10 dailies. Many of the objectives overlap. It would be nice to have them all light up like "track all" button does now for the watch list. Maybe a button to add the selected list of favs to the watch list.
Right click a note or target/1st and "change type" to be able to fix if the type created in not what you wanted.
Chuck Norris.
A search feature for favs.
An import/export feature for notes. Would be nice to be able to share the work you put into making a guide with other Carb users.
My keybinding (Ctrl+Numpad 0) opens the favs but does not seem to close it. Might be nice to be able to minimize that window too.
A way to edit the favorites from outside WoW. I know...keep dreaming or get coding right? But it would be really, REALLY nice to be able to edit these without even having WoW open.
I could see a full blown 1-70 leveling guide getting quite large. Even though it should never be as big as the DB lightheaded uses, LH breaks the DB into 3 load on demand files. (TourGuide does this as well I think for each zone though I might be wrong about that) Something you should probably consider doing as well.
Also I've noticed that when you add a quest start/end to a fav that you're actually putting the full name into the saved variables file. For complete quests I would think you would want to use the quest ID instead to save space there assuming that Carb is set up that way and that having the actual quest info show up in the note from just the ID wouldn't be a lot of coding for you.
As far as the database pane goes...
I'm questing with someone that does not have Carbonite -.- (hey I try...they don't listen) I complete the objective before they do. Now I don't have tracking for that quest anymore to be able to help them. So I go into the DB to turn it back on but that gives me a single point on the map not the nice shaded watch area...is there anyway we can get map shading from tracking a quest from the DB or history panes please.
I noticed something about the search feature yesterday too. Had a guildy say they were having trouble finding an objective area in Feralas. They went online to look up the location and all they could find was "you go to the ruins and kill harpies there"...naturally there are 3 or 4 sets of ruins in Feralas so I said hang on let me look it up in Carbonite, the best questing addon ever! (they just. don't. listen.) so I search the DB but find nothing. I'm in OL so I right click and hit show all quests. I still get nothing. I had to check show low level/high level to get the quest to show up in the DB. I would think checking show all quests would search the full DB not just the continent I was on.
Thanks!
