A few questions about the maps...

I have a few questions about the maps (and how should I use them?). I'm brand new with this addon.

    1. How do I keep the map open (and mostly transparent) while moving about in the game, killing, etc. without "losing focus" on the game itself? Is there a way to "lock" the map so that my mouse won't focus on it and scroll the map while I'm moving my char around, fighting, etc.?

1a. Or, am I supposed to toggle the map off and try to remember what it showed when it was open? How do you folks use the Carbonite maps?

    2. The small mini-map (located at the top left corner): Why can't I click somewhere on it and have the larger map scroll automatically to the point I clicked on the mini-map?

    3. Transparency issues: Is it possible for me to hide the border that surrounds the Carbonite map and to also make the icons on the map more transparent? Even when my mouse isn't over the map (and the map is mostly transparent), the icons do not become transparent. They remain "solid" colors.

    4. Keyboard shortcuts: Is there one to toggle the Carbonite map (like "M" does for the World Map)? If so, I haven't found it.

I keep the map always open and at the top right corner of the screen. You can right click any window title bar and lock the window, but I never do that. Since the map is in the corner of the screen I generally don't have any problems with it being in the way in combat.

No one ever asked for that. Left clicking pings it and right clicking opens the menu. It would have to be something like ctrl click.

The border fades out when the mouse is not on the map. The title bar right click menu has fade in/out settings and right clicking a non icon area of map has a "Transparency" submenu. The POI icons have a transparency setting, but quest icons do not. Adding to todo list.

     Toggle Original Map
     Toggle Normal or Max Map
Toggle None or Max Map         <<<< Setting M for this one would emulate the World map
Toggle None or Normal Map     <<<< This would let you toggle the small map
     Restore Saved Map Scale
     Toggle Full Size Minimap
     Toggle Guide
     Toggle Warehouse
     Toggle Watch List Minimize

Thank you for your reply. I have been experimenting and now feel quite comfortable using Carbonite Addon. I don't know how I played this game without it. Heh.

Only one technical issue still bothers me. When I press the letter "O" on my keyboard, there appears a large, grey, rectangle that nearly fills my display. But, the "Friends/Guild" area is the proper size. How do I eliminate that large background screen?

That is because you have "Use enhanced social window" checked in the social page of the options window. You can resize the window using the edges to make it smaller. It is a wide window because the list in the "Pals" tab is putting all your friends info on one long line. It is still a work in progress and you can just disable it using the option.
